World-renowned disc jockey, author and Rock & Roll Hall of Fame legend Jerry Blavat – The Geator with the Heater, the Boss with the Hot Sauce – marks his 75th birthday on July 3. This year he'll celebrate one day early on July 2 with friends, family and admirers at Memories in Margate, NJ. As Blavat is the toast of rock, roll, and R&B oldies, and his Rolodex includes old pals such as Chubby Checker and Bobby Rydell, any 50s and 60s music celebrity within driving distance on the East Coast will surely attend this party.

Blavat is a multi-generational sensation, having started his career at the age of 13 as a dancer and group leader on the television dance show Bandstand before Dick Clark took it over. Since then, Blavat has been an assistant to comedian Don Rickles (they still talk all the time); a rock 'n' roll radio revolutionary picking and playing the hits; a friend to everyone from Frank Sinatra and Sammy Davis to Angelo Bruno; and the author of a best-selling autobiography, You Only Rock Once.  I, along with my wife, Reese Amorosi (editor of Glamorosi Magazine), wish Jerry a rocking birthday.
