It's Cubic Zirconia, For Real!
I don’t love when cubic zirconia is used as a faux version of a genuine gem, but as a stone in its own right it's dazzling - I’ve been using it in my jewelry for a few years now. The necklace above features deep purple cubic zirconia briolettes with faceted tanzanite and amethyst rondelles. Each bead is hand wrapped with sterling silver wire to make the gemstone chain. It's from my Fall ‘03 collection and was one of my more expensive pieces – it retailed in boutiques here for $420. For real!
