Comedian Lewis Black has a Broadway show and a new CD/DVD this fall |
To say that comedian Lewis Black is prolific is an understatement. His angry, exasperated rants can be seen live during over 200 sold-out performances per year at venues ranging from the stately Carnegie Hall in New York City to the glitzy Mirage in Las Vegas.
Black's CDs have earned four Grammy® nominations and won two: Best Comedy Album in 2007 for The Carnegie Hall Performance, and in 2011 for Stark Raving Black. He has a recurring "Back in Black" segment on Comedy Central's The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, and has made numerous appearances with TV talkers Jimmy Fallon, Larry King, David Letterman, Rachel Maddow, Conan O’Brien, and Keith Olbermann. Black's big screen work includes minor appearances in films such as Woody Allen's Hannah and Her Sisters (1986), as well as lead roles in movies like Barry Levinson's Man of the Year (2006). He is also a successful author who has published three books and written over forty plays.
Despite his hectic schedule, Lewis Black still makes time to work with numerous charities including the 52nd Street Project (a program dedicated to the production of theater works for and by kids from NYC's Hell's Kitchen neighborhood) and Autism Speaks.
