CeCe Frey in her final performance on season 2 of The X Factor USA
By GLAMOROSI

On season 2, episode 23 of The X Factor USA we find out which two Top 6 contestants will be eliminated, and who will be the final four competing in the semi-finals and moving one step closer to the 5 million dollar prize. We also see performances from the reigning X Factor champion Melanie Amaro, and platinum recording artist Ke$ha.

Melanie Amaro
The show begins with hosts Mario Lopez and Khloe Kardashian telling us the contestants will have an agonizing wait to see who will be cut and who will move on to the Top 4. We see a video recap of the Top 6 performances, and then Melanie Amaro does her single “Long Distance” from her new album Truly.

The judges and their contestants are announced: Britney Spears with her Teens, Diamond White and Carly Rose Sonenclar; L.A. Reid and his Over 25 singer Tate Stevens; Demi Lovato and her Young Adult CeCe Frey; Simon Cowell with his Groups Emblem3 and Fifth Harmony.

The first elimination takes place; it is CeCe Frey. Her parting words are, “I’m proud of everything I’ve done here… you need to love who you are, the more you love who you are, the less you're gonna need anybody else.” Demi fights back tears when she tells CeCe, "I'm just so proud of you."

Diamond White
Next we find out the three contestants who are safe and going straight through to the X Factor semi-finals: Emblem3, Carly Rose Sonenclar, and Tate Stevens. That means Diamond White and Fifth Harmony will have to sing for their survival to stay on the show and remain in the running for the 5 million dollar record contract.

First though, we see the world TV premiere of Ke$ha performing "C'mon" from her latest album Warrior. She dances with four giant cats and her palms glow like fireflies. I want her job.

Then it’s time for the sing-off. Fifth Harmony goes with Mariah Carey's "Anytime You Need a Friend"; Diamond White sings Lee Ann Womack’s “I Hope You Dance”.

Mario asks the judges to vote, and reminds everyone that in the event of a deadlock, the contestant with the lowest number of public votes will go home. Naturally, Simon votes to send Diamond home and Britney votes to send Fifth Harmony home. Then L.A. and Demi also vote to send Diamond home. The talented young singer says, “I’m thinking of Cher Lloyd right now, she came in fifth” and then adds that she’ll come back to X Factor to perform her hit song.

Before the show closes we learn how the contestants ranked in the public vote:

1. Tate Stevens
2. Carly Rose Sonenclar
3. Emblem3
4. Fifth Harmony
