Johnny Van Heest |
Johnny Van Heest was recently named as the Press and Promotions Manager for the Arden Theatre Company in Philadelphia's Old City area. Most recently, Van Heest was the media spokesperson for Philly’s Wilma Theater, its cabaret, and its resident dance company, BalletX.
Van Heest joins the Arden staff at a crucial time in that theater's development. After its start as a floating production company in 1988, the Arden found a permanent home in 1995 at 40 N. 2nd Street in Old City, with a 360 seat main-stage theater, a studio theater, and smaller rooms for classes. Founders Terrence J. Nolen and Amy Murphy (respectively its Producing Artistic Director and Managing Director) expanded their vision, literally and figuratively, in November 2013, when the Arden opened a second space, the Hamilton Family Arts Center at 62 N. 2nd Street. The Hamilton currently houses the Arden Drama School, six classrooms, space for new play development, rehearsal halls, rooms for its technical staff, a teacher's resource center and a craft studio for set and prop construction.
Van Heest will be busy with the Arden Theatre's 2014 season of plays including the current production, Water by the Spoonful, and upcoming works such as Three Sisters, Incorruptible, and Dr. Seuss’ The Cat in the Hat.
