Michelle Obama to Speak at Pennsylvania Conference for Women, Release Book

By A.D. AMOROSI

Former First Lady Michelle Obama has spent her first seven months away from the White House on vacation with her husband, the USA’s 44th President, Barack Obama. As of July, however, she’s back in the public eye with the announcement of a speaking engagement at the Pennsylvania Conference for Women, and news of a book, Chasing Light, showcasing photos from her time in Washington – both in October.

The 14th annual Pennsylvania Conference for Women, a non-partisan, non-profit organization, announced that Michelle Obama will participate in a conversation on October 3, 2017, at the Pennsylvania Convention Center in Philadelphia, PA. Over 10,000 attendees are registered for the event, at which Mrs. Obama will discuss a handful of her career-long causes such as equal access to education, increasing nutrition awareness and improving the lives of children of all ages

Where Chasing Light is concerned, White House photographer and essayist Amanda Lucidon spent eight years in the Obama White House, and caught the former First Lady at times of trouble and triumph. Scheduled for release on October 17, 2017, by Ten Speed Press (a Penguin Random House imprint), Chasing Light will feature 150 color shots and personal commentary by Lucidon, and comes out three weeks before Obama: An Intimate Portrait, a book of President Barack Obama images by another White House photographer, Pete Souza.
