Before I was a jewelry designer I was a makeup artist, and back then Carmex was a staple in my kit; I’ve always been a fan of its moisturizing and healing properties. The new Moisture Plus keeps your lips soft like the original Carmex, but it’s tinted - it comes in Sheer Pink and Sheer Peach. It is formulated with vitamin E, aloe, shea butter and SPF 15, a big plus because a lot of people forget to protect their lips from sun damage.
Carmex Moisture Plus Tints come in a sleek matte silver tube that has a thin band of color indicating if it’s pink or peach. I like the way it clicks shut so I know it’s not going to come open in my purse or coat pocket. The lip balm has a slanted tip for ease of application.
The Moisture Plus Tints look super-bright in the tube, but when you apply them it's just a hint of sheer color and subtle shine. These pale tinted lip balms are perfect for achieving a natural, healthy looking pout; my husband didn’t know I was testing a new product, but he noticed right away that my lips looked “pretty”.
I like these light tints a lot, but I am hoping in the future the line will expand to include darker colors like burgundy, red and brown. In the meanwhile, in addition to wearing the Moisture Plus Tints alone, I am also using them the way I used the original Carmex back in my makeup artist days - by applying them over lip pencil. Versatile!
