Fans of superstar Barbra Streisand are buzzing with the news that the legendary performer is launching a concert tour that will begin at South Philadelphia's Wells Fargo Center on October 8, 2012.  Streisand last performed in Philadelphia at The Wells Fargo Center when she opened her 2006 tour.

The concerts, announced by Live Nation and S2BN on August 7, will also showcase instrumental performer Chris Botti and the Italian opera trio Il Volos performing as special guests.

Streisand's accomplishments are unparalleled: 10 Grammys, 51 gold albums, 30 platinum albums, and 13 multi-platinum albums.  According to the RIAA (Recording industry Association of America), Streisand has outsold all other women in recording history, and is the only woman to earn a spot on the Top 10 all-time best-selling artists list.

Streisand has received a huge list of awards including 2 Oscars, 5 Emmys, 10 Grammys, a Tony and 12 Golden Globes including the Cecil B. DeMille Award. She is also the first female film director to receive the Kennedy Center Honors. The three films she directed – Yentl (1983), The Prince of Tides (1991), and The Mirror Has Two Faces (1996) -  received a total of 14 Oscar nominations.  Her directing career continues as she is currently in pre-production for Skinny and Cat, a film about the life of photographer Margaret Bourke-White with Cate Blanchett and Colin Firth.

Tickets for Streisand’s Wells Fargo Center show will go on sale on Monday, August 13 at 10 a.m., and will be available online at ComcastTIX.com, by phone at 1-800-298-4200, or in person at the Wells Fargo Center box office.
