On Tuesday, December 18, the first-ever Head 2 Toe men's grooming and styling event will be held from 5:00pm to 9:00pm at Kembrel, 1219 Locust Street in Philadelphia. The festivities will be hosted by the clothier along with 2B Groomed Barbering Studio, bloggers from the fashion website Avenue Swank, and PR guy Kory Aversa.

2B Groomed (270 S. 11th) is probably the coolest location in the city to get a great haircut, a hot shave and a good conversation. The intimate and elegant space is owned by Jahmal Rhaney, and has the feel of an old school barbershop without making patrons stare into those tall jars of blue liquid with combs in them. Combine that with the locally sourced, independent and niche designer fashions that fill Kembrel – and you’ve got the making of a fine hang out. That’s probably why they brought in the ultimate style conversation starter, Quentin Washington of Avenue Swank, whose web-hub writes about men’s luxury goods frankly and swank-ly.

There will be cocktails from Art in the Age, food from Smokin’ Betty's, and Head 2 Toe will offer attendees the opportunity to win complimentary hot shaves - this sounds like a serious man’s night out.

Kory Aversa
As for Kory Aversa, the event’s publicist, he’s having a good year. His company Aversa PR and Events promoted Philadelphia’s first Diner En Blanc soiree, and has an impressive roster of clients including The East Passyunk Avenue Business Improvement District with its ever-growing list of restaurants and shops, and also the critically acclaimed Indian culinary hot spots Tashan and Tiffin. Earlier this month The Philadelphia Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America recognized Aversa PR, along with the team behind Diner en Blanc, for their rousing viral campaign. Aversa also received The President’s Award for his individual achievement in chairing PSRA’s first non-profit resource committee.   The prestigious prizes are Aversa’s first “Pepperpots”, the nickname for the PR society’s award. We trust it won’t be his last. Congrats.
