Beyoncé announced The Mrs. Carter Show world tour this week |
Monday morning quarterbacks, rejoice, it is pretty much unanimous: Super Bowl XLVII will go down in pop cultural history as the Beyoncé Bowl. Although football fans will remember the Baltimore Ravens won (34-31), QB Joe Flacco was MVP, and there was a stadium blackout due to a blown transformer, Beyoncé was the game’s true star. At 13 minutes total, Beyoncé’s glittering halftime performance wasn’t nearly long enough, so it was perfect that she announced The Mrs. Carter Show world tour – named in honor of her husband, Shawn "Jay-Z" Carter – following her Super Bowl triumph.
The Mrs. Carter Show tour makes its way through Europe beginning on April 15, then kicks off its North American dates at the Staples Center in Los Angeles on June 28. Beyoncé will be in our hometowns at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia on July 25, and at Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City on July 26. We can’t wait.
Until then, fans can catch Blue Ivy's mom in a live appearance at the 2013 Grammy Awards (February 10), and in the debut of the autobiographical documentary she co-directed, Life is But a Dream (February 16), on HBO.
