For week two of Dancing with the Stars the celebrities and their pro partners performed Jazz, Jive, and Quickstep routines for judges Len Goodman, Carrie Ann Inaba and Bruno Tonioli. For two weeks running Disney teen Zendaya and her partner Val Chmerkovskiy topped the scoreboard, followed closely by singer Kellie Pickler and Derek Hough, who were only three points behind. Despite improving over the course of one week, comedian D.L. Hughley and his partner Cheryl Burke were in last place. The judge’s scores from the last two weeks were combined with the public’s votes, and would have resulted in DWTS’s first elimination of the 16th season, but Dorothy Hamill had to withdraw due to an injury, so no dancers were cut.

Twitter users selected Zendaya and Val to perform an encore of their season 16, episode 2 Jive dance to "This Head I Hold" by Electric Guest. Viewers were also treated to musical performances by popera singer Josh Groban, who sang his new single “Brave” (his background singers sounded drunk when they did the "wo-wo-wo" parts) and Swedish DJ and synth duo Icona Pop, who did their big hit, “I Love It”.

Throughout the course of the show, hosts Tom Bergeron and Brooke Burke-Charvet announced which pairs made it through to the next week, and which had to keep their fingers crossed.

The safe couples: Ingo Rademacher and Kym; Sean Lowe and Peta Murgatroyd; Wynonna Judd and Tony Dovolani; Alexandra Raisman and Mark Ballas; D.L. Hughley and Cheryl Burke; Zendaya and Val Chmerkovskiy; Kellie Pickler and Derek Hough; Dorothy Hamill and Tristan MacManus; Jacoby Jones and Karina Smirnoff.

The couples in jeopardy: Victor Ortiz and Lindsay Arnold; Lisa Vanderpump and Gleb Savchenko (Lisa joked that she was willing to sleep with judge Len Goodman to get an advantage on the show); Andy Dick and Sharna Burgess.

Before the results were revealed, Bergeron told one of the bottom three pairs they were safe and would be returning to compete next week: Andy and his partner Sharna.

Then, right before one couple was about to get cut, Bergeron brought Dorothy Hamill and her partner Tristan MacManus to the stage, and she revealed that due to an injury to her spine, her doctor advised her to withdraw from DWTS. It was a sad moment – Ms. Hamill was a lovely dancer during her pre-injury performance in the show’s season premiere episode – but it’s not worth risking her health over a TV show.

Because of Ms. Hamill’s surprise exit, no-one was eliminated in week two of Dancing with the Stars.
