Bruce Springsteen will release High Hopes in January 2014 |
The New Year will barely have begun when Bruce Springsteen releases his new, quite unexpected album, High Hopes, on January 14, 2014. Rather than being a full album of new tunes from "The Boss," the Columbia label LP will feature one new tune (the title track), cover songs, studio outtakes and re-recordings of longtime Springsteen favorites. "This is music I always felt needed to be released," Springsteen said in a Shore Fire PR press statement on November 25. The video for the debut single "High Hopes" was also released that same day (watch below).

High Hopes also includes a cover of “Dream Baby Dream,” a pulsating electro-punk classic from the avant-garde noise duo Suicide that Springsteen used to play during his 2005 solo acoustic tour, as well as some of the last recordings of the late Clarence Clemons, Bruce’s saxophonist and old friend.
