Philadelphia rapper Meek Mill may be busy in the studio recording his second album and playing shows with pal and label boss, Rick Ross, but this schedule won’t stop him from giving back. This week, Mill is in Philly hosting his first annual "A Dreamchaser’s Thanksgiving," November 26 and November 27. "I’m blessed to be in a position where I can make sure that as many people as possible have a meal on Thanksgiving, so that they can be with their loved ones to enjoy the holiday," says Mill in a press statement.

Meek Mill, a Maybach Music Group/Atlantic label artist, is a North Philadelphia native who has traveled the globe after releasing a multitude of mix-tapes and his critically acclaimed full-length album, 2012’s Dreams and Nightmares. Still, he misses the area and understands its needs. "Philly raised me and made me into the man I am today, so to do the first annual ‘A Dreamchaser’s Thanksgiving,’ was an obvious thing to do," says Mill in a prepared statement.

Mill has planned a pre-Thanksgiving turkey giveaway on Tuesday, November 26, and Wednesday, November 27, with a goal to feed nearly 600 families within the Philadelphia area, benefiting organizations like Youth Working Together, Town Watch and Unity In the Community. "I’ve been all over the world but Philly is my home, and to be able to now give back is an amazing feeling." To quote one of Mill’s best songs, "Amen" to that.
